Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program

Prince Edward Island is known as the birthplace of Canada. The island province is attractive for its beautiful coasts, agriculture, fishing, and tourism.

The PEI PNP was generated in 2001 to bring more immigrants to the province with an aim to meet the labour market needs and rise the economic well-being of the province. The province has welcomed more immigrants since the launching of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot in 2017.

All interested applicants having the skills and experience required by the province, and meeting the eligibility criteria, are able to apply under the PEI PNP for nomination. After being nominated, the applicant can apply for Permanent Residence in Canada through IRCC.

PEI PNP has the following immigration categories for the applicants to select:

  • PEI PNP Express Entry – is the category available for the applicants with an active Express Entry profile, who are living and working in the PEI, and having the skills needful by the labor market needs in the province.
  • Labour Impact Category – is suitable for skilled workers and international graduates having the skills and experience needful in the PEI’s labor market. The applicants need to meet the eligibility criteria of the category. This category has the following 3 streams:
    • Skilled Worker Stream – for skilled job positions under NOC 0, A or B level.
    • Critical Worker Stream – for truck drivers, customer service representatives, labourer, food and beverage server or housekeeping attendant.
    • International Graduate Stream – for skilled job positions under NOC 0, A or B level, completed post-secondary diploma or degree from an eligible PEI learning institution. The applicants must also hold a valid Post Graduation Work Permit.
  • Business Impact Category – is appropriate for the applicants who wish to invest in a business in PEI. The applicants are permitted to live and work on PEI and have the exposure to learn about the business they are investing even before receiving a nomination from the PEI.
