Important Information Before Completing the Spousal Sponsorship Questionnaire

Canadian citizens and permanent residents may sponsor eligible family members, including spouses, common-law partners, conjugal partners, and dependent children, for permanent residence in Canada

A spouse must be legally married to the sponsor, and the marriage must be recognized both in the country where it took place and in Canada. Common-law partners must have lived together in a genuine relationship for at least one continuous year. Conjugal partner sponsorship may apply where the couple has maintained a committed relationship for at least one year but cannot marry or live together due to exceptional circumstances. Dependent children may also qualify if they are under 22 years of age or financially dependent due to a physical or mental condition.

Sponsors must generally be at least 18 years old, be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and agree to financially support the sponsored person. Certain restrictions may apply, including previous sponsorship undertakings, undeclared family members in earlier immigration applications, or relationship eligibility concerns.

Please ensure all information provided in the assessment questionnaire is accurate and complete. After submission, you should receive a confirmation email. If no confirmation is received, please contact our office to verify your email address.

Education & Credentials

Official Language Proficiency

Canada has two official languages: English and French. Your ability to read, write, speak, and understand these languages affects your immigration eligibility. Language proficiency is measured using the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) through approved government testing (IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, etc.).
(If you have not completed an official language test, select the option that best describes your ability.)

Work Experience

What is your current occupation?

(The National Occupational Classification – NOC – system is used to classify jobs in Canada. If unsure, you may use the official NOC tool to determine your occupation code.)

Provincial Nomination

Financial Information

Personal Net Worth (in CAD$)*
Personal net worth equals your total assets minus total liabilities. Include cash, investments, property, and other assets, minus loans, mortgages, and debts. If you have a spouse or common-law partner, include their net worth as well. (Use a currency conversion tool to calculate the amount in Canadian Dollars.)

Additional questions

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) is the national reference for occupations in Canada. If you don't already know it, you can use this tool to determine the NOC code for your occupation.

Personal Net Worth

Personal net worth is the total value of what you own (assets) minus what you owe (liabilities). To calculate it, add up the value of all your assets, such as cash, investments, real estate or property, and other valuable possessions. Then subtract all your liabilities, like loans, mortgages, credit card debt, and other financial obligations. The result is your net worth, which reflects your overall financial health. If you are married or have a common-law partner, add their personal net worth to your own. Use this tool to convert your net worth to Canadian Dollars (CAD).
