The Federal Skilled Trade Program(FSTP) is one of the 3 Federal economic programs under Express Entry. It was introduced in 2013. Due to labour shortage in Canada, IRCC aims to welcome approximately 400,000 immigrants per year under Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTP). Eligible Skilled Trade Professionals usually obtain Permanent Residence of Canada within 06 months.
Under Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTP) the candidate may have low CRS score has there is “NO” education requirement.
While applying under Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTP) the candidate can only choose to reside in any province other than Quebec.
An eligible candidate can be invited under FSTP (Federal Skilled Worker Class) while residing outside Canada or inside Canada on a valid temporary status.
The applicants willing to apply under FSTP should have minimum of 2 years of full-time paid work experience in skilled trade occupation in past 05 years. The job duties performed by candidates should relate to the occupation description in their NOC. The applicants must have gained work experience in an occupation falling under NOC B trade groups as follows:
The applicant can provide their Language Test results in English or French from approved listed organizations which are IELTS, CELPIP, TEF Canada or TCF Canada. The minimum score required to be eligible is CLB/NCLC 5 in speaking and listening module and CLB/NCLC 4 in reading and writing module.
There is “NO” minimum Education requirement to be eligible to apply under FSTP. But if the candidates wish to increase their CRS Score/points, they may include their education obtained from Canada or outside Canada. However, for candidates with foreign education are required to provide an ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) for each credential obtained. The ECA must be for immigration purposes and from the designated organization which are WES, IQAS, ICAS, CES or ICES.

While applying under FSTP, the candidates may require to provide “Proof of funds” to prove whether they have the enough funds to get themselves and their dependent family members settle in Canada, unless:
